FAQ's

How much notice do you require for me to order a cake?
This depends on a number of factors including how many other cakes are booked in already, and how involved/complex your order will be. Generally, I require a minimum of 2 weeks notice - this helps to ensure I have all the supplies, tools and equipment needed to complete your order. However if your design is to be more complex or have other special requirements, more notice is required. Therefore it’s best to contact me as soon as possible to discuss your order to ensure I am able to assist. If your event is sooner than 2 weeks, please still feel free to contact me as, depending on a number of factors, I may still be able to complete your order.

What flavour cakes  and icing are available?
Mud cakes hold up best to the rigors of decorating and have a better shelf life. As such, the bulk of my work is in mud cakes. The flavours I currently offer are Chocolate, White Chocolate, Caramel and Cherry Ripe Choc Mud. If you have other preferences, please ask and I will do my best to accommodate (and if nothing else, my hubby will greatly appreciate assisting with ‘Research and Development’… which is his fancy name for ‘taste testing’!!).  I have recently added fruit cakes to my range and am currently trialling a range of sponge options and hope to officially add this to my range soon. Cupcakes are currently available in a vanilla, lemon-vanilla and chocolate mud flavours with the aim to trial and more flavours in the range in the near future.

Ganache and sugarpaste is my main method of icing and decorating. It is great for covering cakes that then do not require refrigeration until cut. This is a definite advantage in our climate!  I am currently also trialling and practicing with a meringue buttercream which has a lovely velvety smooth texture and suitably sweet (without being sickly) flavour. If you do have other preferences or requirements, please do ask and I’ll do my best to accomodate where possible.

I am happy with your quote – what next?
In order to secure your quoted price, a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. Your booking is not confirmed until this payment is received/cleared.  The remaining 50% of your order value along with any security deposits for hire items is then due no later than 1 week prior to your event. Deposit and final payments can be made via cash or direct bank deposit (in branch or internet transfer). PayPal payments are accepted, but these payments will incur a 2% surcharge towards the fees charged by PayPal.

Do you deliver cake orders?
As I am the primary carer for my two small children, delivery is something that will need to be negotiated and may not be available in all cases. Where delivery can be negotiated, a fee will be incurred dependant on distance. Please include the address of your event in your enquiry and note if you will require delivery so that I can assess my ability to offer delivery when compiling your quote.  Delivery within the suburb of Jimboomba is FREE.
